The Berrien County Historical Association, Inc. operates the History Center at Courthouse Square and collects, preserves and interprets the history of Berrien County through exhibits, tours, publications, research and educational and community outreach programs.
The History Center is located at historic Courthouse Square in Berrien Springs. The site includes the 1839 Berrien County Courthouse, an 1830 log house, an 1870 sheriff’s residence and jail plaza and a working forge. The center also includes extensive archival collections accessible to researchers, a museum and a museum store. Tours and programs are available for schools and community groups. Program series and special events are also regularly scheduled at the museum.
The Berrien County Historical Association is a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c) 3 organization. Membership supports preservation and collection projects, exhibitions and programs. There are several additional benefits of membership:
