6:30 p.m.
Remember the Ladies: The Women’s Suffrage Movement in America, History Center Director Frances Porter Snyder will present a power point program about the history of women’s suffrage culminating in the ratification of the 19th Amendment.  Many men and women worked for and against  “giving women the vote” from the colonial period until 1919.

July 10
6:30 p.m.
“The Worst Colonel I Ever Saw:” Francis Quinn and the 12th Michigan Infantry, History Center Curator Robert Myers offers a power point program on Col. Francis Quinn, a prominent Niles businessman, who won command of the 12th Michigan. His disastrous debut at the Battle of Shiloh destroyed his life.

July 17
6:30 p.m.
Bainbridge and America’s War With the Barbary Pirates, North Berrien Historical Museum Director Alex Gates will discus the first American post Revolutionary War naval hero, Commodore William Bainbridge, who battled pirates in the Barbary states for 30 years.  Berrien County’s Bainbridge Township is named for him.

July 24
6:30 p.m.
Israelite House of David and Old Time Baseball, Mary’s City of David’s Secretary of Trustees and Captain of the House of David Echoes Ron Taylor will discuss the nationally known baseball team and its players and how “old time baseball” is played today.

July 31
6:30 p.m.
A History of the Morton House, Morton House Executive Director Debra Trapikas offers a program about the history of the Morton House built in 1849 in Benton Harbor by Henry C. Morton early pioneer and financier of the ship canal that made the City an important lake Michigan Port.  The current activities of the Morton House Museum will also be highlighted.

August 07
6:30 p.m.
Victorian Interiors, History Center Museum Store Manager Kristen Patzer Umphrey will describe Victorian design elements as they appeared in homes of the period. Her power point presentation will provide examples of room décor including wall coverings, furniture and flooring.
