The 4th annual Pickle Festival returns to the History Center at Courthouse Square and  Berrien Springs Community Library on July 4th.  This year’s event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Join us for the following pre-festival events!


If you are a fan of history, true crime, and wine, then this is your program!  A flight of five wines chosen by Lazy Ballerina Winery are paired with five stories from author Michael Delaware’s new book Victorian Southwest Michigan True Crime to give you an evening of true crime and wine.  Registration will  be required as spaces are limited and will run through June 13.

The BCHA’s next wine and history event is the perfect pairing for our next exhibit, “B is for Beauty: Textiles and Accessories from the BCHA Collections.”
Spend an evening at Lemon Creek Winery where we’ll discuss the history of hats, one of the most popular accessories in history. From the humble bonnet to the elaborate fascinators enjoyed by the British Royal family, we’ll see how we’ve used hats to top off our best outfits!
Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite hats during the evening, which could win you special prizes!

Join the BCHA for their 6th annual Dia de Muertos community ofrenda!  You are invited to leave a picture or non-valuable/ non-perishable trinket on our altar to remember someone you love who has passed.  No trinkets?  Feel free to leave their name on our wall of memory.

Cemeteries are a rich source of information for genealogists, but there is more to the stories they tell!  Join director Rhiannon as she takes you through two Berrien county cemeteries to learn how to read a cemetery and use it as a source of information!  Registration not required but presale tickets will be made available for those interested.  Cash payment only for day of ticket sales.  Light refreshments included.

Our 4th annual Fireside Tales and folks from Twin City Players return to the Murdock Cabin this October for another season of ghost stories!  The 2024 theme is “Funny Bones” and perfect for those who like spooky humor.  The cost is $5.00 per person and that includes stories and refreshments.  Stories are not designed for children under 8 years old.

The museum turns into a battle dome this Hanukkah as the  BCHA invites you to participate in the county’s only dreidel tournament!  The tournament will require at minimum of 12 players to commence.
